ipython-qtconsole software package provides transitional dummy package for python-qtconsole, you can install in your Debian 9 (Stretch) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ipython-qtconsole
ipython-qtconsole is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ipython-qtconsole package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ipython-qtconsole *
You will get with ipython-qtconsole package name, version, architecture and description in a table
